Su nombre en japonés, Gangare, viene de gangrena (muerte y putrefacción del tejido del cuerpo) y Edgar (Allan Poe, famoso poeta de horror). También puede estar relacionado a Genghoolie, significa espeluznante.

His name in japanese, Gangare, come from gangrene (the decay of body tissues, which become black and malodorous) y Edgar (Allan Poe, famous poet of the horror). Too can be related with Genghoolie, that means horrifying.
